Pitaki is a startup I founded to help African farmers reach international markets, improve livelihoods, and create viable local futures that reduce the need to leave home in search of opportunity.
Pitaki operates as PITAKI LLC in the United States and PITAKI SUARL in Senegal, enabling locally based businesses to operate and serve customers globally.
As the Business Owner, Project Manager, UX Designer, and Server Admin, I led Pitaki from concept to execution, owning strategy and implementation across business, product, design, and infrastructure.
Business Ownership and Project Leadership
I led strategic planning, vendor negotiations, onboarding processes, contract definition, pricing models, and risk management while managing timelines and dependencies. This included navigating supplier constraints, certification requirements, and launch readiness. I also led a development team, translating business and product needs into scoped features and guiding implementation to ensure alignment between mission, feasibility, and growth.
UX Design, Branding, and Technical Infrastructure
I worked on select parts of the platform experience, focusing on product page structure, content hierarchy, and low friction features such as contact and quote request flows, while also contributing to the visual and artistic direction through bold typography and confident layouts that communicate equity, value, and presence.
Pitaki’s first trademarked brand, “TERU”, serves as a flagship cosmetic line and a showcase of my skills in branding, visual identity, and product positioning. It was intentionally developed as a reference product, meant to inspire and guide other producers and brand owners on how locally rooted products can compete globally.
In parallel, I managed server setup, deployments, and system stability, allowing design and product decisions to remain grounded in technical realities.
Pitaki represents my ability to operate across vision, leadership, design, and systems. It demonstrates how I combine business ownership, project management, UX and brand design, and technical execution to build products that are both socially meaningful and operationally sound.
